Dark Mirror

The concept of photography as a vehicle for self-reflection is as old as the medium itself. However, we have curated Dark Mirror around the freshness and vitality with which these artists revisit this trope, and an appreciation of the odd combination of angles from which they have chosen to approach this issue's theme, 'Darkness.' Rebecca Gordon and Finn Ballard take a multidisciplinary approach to the medium, using photography to communicate ideas about affect, memory, solitude, and sense of self. Chris Strong, a photographer by trade, shapes light and darkness into highly aestheticized images which serve as a means to personal instrospection.
